Our Story
Dan Cowart and Scott McLeod founded AUDIO OUTREACH INTERNATIONAL (AOI) to consolidate the efforts of Christian country bands who evangelistically proclaim the Gospel message through music, personal testimony, and ministry. Over the years, AOI has strategically partnered with evangelism-oriented, internationally known Christian organizations.
To help people who’ve been touched by AOI’s musical ministry, James Robison’s Life Outreach International provides phone support for people seeking prayer and counseling. Life Outreach International will also assist in the follow-up work after each follow-up card is completed and returned.
Dallas based Vision Life Ministries provides prayer covering for all concert events. AOI also works with Motor Racing Outreach at each NASCAR Outreach Event and other ministries to secure concert sites and a host of other logistical and other services to ensure a safe and successful event.
Collaborations and Partnerships such as these enable AOI to effectively touch more hearts with the life-changing message of the Gospel than they would otherwise be able to do.
While AOI brings clean family entertainment to these NASCAR events, their real purpose is to minister the Gospel to those who need Christ and to encourage each believer to be fully committed to the will of God.
AOI has partnered with TERAJAY Music Group, LLC to provide the top Christian Country Music artists in the industry for each concert event. AOI’s primary artists include:
CrossCountry The Band
Voted Christian Country Music Association’s “Music Evangelist of the Year” in 2003 and “Vocal Group of the Year” in 1999, as well as the International Country Gospel Music Association’s “Vocal Group of the Decade” for the 90’s (to name only a few).
CrossCountry’s founder Leo Johnston shares his own testimony as a man who has learned of God’s love, mercy and healing powers through extraordinary life experiences. For the past several years Johnston has worked to forge the way for Christian country bands who offer excellent music and quality performances.
CrossCountry’s motto “Givin’ their all… livin’ the call” is more than words, it’s a commission and a way of life. The band’s web site, www.crosscountryministries.org, offers personal testimonies from band members as well as pictures and personal notes that give a feel for the band’s down to earth personality.
The Last Light Band
Nominated for Vocal Group of the year in 2001, Trio of the year in 2002 & Vocal Group again in 2003 and again in 2004 by the CCMA. The band recieved the Trio of the year in 2004 and 2005 from the CCMA and continues to impact christian country radio. The band continues to impact ICM Radio across our nation with numerous chart topping songs. They’ve continuously focused on reaching the hearts of people who are searching for God.
Last Light's members, Dan & Tonya Cowart and Scott McLeod have the common background of young people lost in the world of sin, who the Lord picked up and brought to a place of surrender to God's purpose for their life – a place where their heart’s desire is to seek and obey His will. Their music conveys the love of the Lord to a hurting world. At Last Light’s web site, www.lastlight.org, you’ll find the band members’ testimonies, pictures and history. The band has spent almost 30 years doing the work of sowers (John 4:37)
Audio Outreach International
(AOI) employs a strategy for evangelism that is powerful in the quest to reach the lost with the message of God’s love for His people. By performing their unique brand of country music in the mainstream marketplace, AOI seeks to challenge unbelievers to develop personal relationships with the Lord Jesus Christ.
AOI delivers the Gospel message to audiences through culturally current and professional outreach products such as music CDs. These materials are distributed during concerts performed by AOI’s Christian country music bands who share personal testimonies, Biblical truth, and ministry.
Musical performances often culminate with the opportunity for listeners to receive the Lord, and or recommit themselves to Christ. Some concert-goers leave with CDs designed to present the message again, intermixed with excellent music performed by a band they already know they will enjoy. Response to these CDs is overwhelming, affirming that this is an effective means of reaching people with the message that the world needs to hear.
Letters come in from people who’ve left the concerts, then made decisions for the Lord later, based on seeds that were planted during the concert, and later watered by the CD’s messages. Here’s just one example of this outreach’s impact: I picked up a CD at the Bristol NASCAR Race Concert. I listened to it, and it was exactly what I needed to go on. Although I have been trying to find my way with God, I have struggled and not fully accepted Jesus as my Savior. Today while listening to your CD, I prayed the prayer and accepted Jesus. There are lots of things going wrong in my life, and I am at the bottom; I realize without Jesus by my side, I will continue to fall. Thank you for making a wonderful CD. It was the final step in my search for the Lord to come into my life. Just pray for me that the Lord will be beside me during my troubled times. Thanks again, Mark from PA
The bands entertain audiences with music that is sometimes fun, often filled with emotion, but always with one goal: to lead listeners to a place where they can receive God’s truth.
Sharing personal testimonies moves each audience to a place where they feel they know and can trust the band members. This opens hearts and minds to receive a message they might never have heard otherwise. Altar calls typically follow and consistently draw large numbers.
Many people walk away holding materials to give them further understanding and direction. Each band draws on a full range of musical styles chosen specifically for each audience.
Whether performing at NASCAR® races, local churches, rodeos, fairs or festivals, their versatility allows them to tailor performances to any type of event. This ministry knows how to plow the hard fallow ground and plant the seeds of the gospel while at the same time making the message attractive and tasteful through effective, professional concert performances that are done with a focus on excellence.
